SOMO does not receive funds from Special Olympics, Special Olympics Maryland, or from our local governments. Each year we raise the funds to pay for uniforms, equipment, facilities, athlete travel, and other program costs. Below are some ways you can help us support our athletes:

Where is the Donate Button? Unfortunately, there is no Donate button. Special Olympics prohibits local area programs like SOMO from accepting donations via our website. If you prefer to contribute via a credit or debit card, please contact our Treasurer, John Bogasky, at treasurer@somdmontgomery.org to make arrangements.
Honor
You can honor any SOMO athlete, coach, volunteer, or program by purchasing an “In Honor Of” mention on our webpage. You can review past Honor Citations here and purchase your Honor Citation here.
If you wish to organize a campaign to honor a colleague or family member, please contact our Treasurer John Bogasky (see Questions) to discuss how we can best support your efforts.

SOMO offers many ways for families and organizations to sponsor our programs. Organizations can sponsor individual fundraising events or sponsor our entire program. SOMO Fundraisers
July 28, 2023 – Sponsor or Play in the Montgomery Masters Charity Golf Tournament. Our 2023 Tournament is scheduled for July 28th at Hampshire Greens Golf Course. You can learn more here.
September 16, 2023 – Send SOMO Over The Edge. On September 16th, several intrepid SOMO Volunteers, including SOMO Area Director Shelly Bogasky, will rappel down a 12-story building to raise funds to support our athletes. You can help fund their drops. More details available this summer.
Community Partners
Community Partners donate the use of their athletic facilities to support our training programs. These in-kind donations are essential to our program.
